As a condition of publication in Applied Membrane Science & Technology, authors are requested to assign the copyright of their article to Penerbit UTM (UTM Press) in consideration of such publication. Please confirm your agreement to this by completing the Copyright Transfer Agreement and return the entire form (by mail or fax) to:

All authors should sign the form, using separate copies if necessary. Should a further author(s) be added to this article while it is under consideration for the journal, the undersigned author(s) must send the written agreement of the additional author(s) to the present transfer of copyright. Equally, this transfer of copyright will continue to apply if the title is changed before publication.

Anyone wishing to reprint copyright material, including illustrations, must obtain formal permission from Penerbit UTM and appropriate acknowledgement must always be made. If the article is not published in any issue of Applied Membrane Science & Technology, this Agreement shall be null and void.

This policy forms an integral part of the Copyright Transfer Agreement; please do not detach this portion from the Agreement.

The author(s) hereby transfers to Penerbit UTM the copyright in the article named above in all forms and media (whether now known or hereafter developed), throughout the world, in all languages, for the full term of copyright and all extensions and renewals thereof, effective when and if the article is accepted for publication. This transfer includes the right to adapt the presentation of the article for use in conjunction with computer systems and programs, including reproduction or publication in machine-readable form and incorporation in retrieval systems.

The publisher grants back to the author(s) the following rights:

  • Patent and trademark rights and rights to any process or procedure described in the article.
  • The right to include the article in full or in part in a thesis or dissertation provided that this is not to be published commercially.
  • The right to photocopy or make electronic copies of the article for their own personal use, including their own classroom use, or for the personal use of colleagues, provided that the copies are not offered for sale and are not distributed in a systematic way outside of their employing institution (e.g via an e–mail list).
  • If the article is a “work for hire” made within the scope of the author’s employment, the employer may use all or part of the information in this article for intra–company use.
  • The right to present the paper at a meeting or conference and to hand copies of the paper to the delegates attending the meeting.
  • The right to prepare derivative works, with full acknowledgement to Penerbit UTM.
  • The right to extend the article into book–length form, with full acknowledgement to Penerbit UTM.

All copies, paper or electronic, or other use of the information must include an indication of the copyright ownership and a full citation of the journal source.

The author declares that the article is the author’s original work. If the article was prepared jointly, the author agrees to inform the co–authors the terms of this Agreement and to obtain their signature to this Agreement or their written permission to sign on their behalf. The article has not been previously published elsewhere and not currently under consideration for another publication. If excerpts form copyrighted works are included, the author will obtain written permission from the copyright owners and show credit to the sources in the article. The author also warrants that the article contains no libellous or unlawful statements, does not infringe on the rights of others, or contains material or instructions that might cause harm or injury.
