Description

This book consists of ten chapters focusing on advanced aeronautical analysis in aircraft, helicopter, and unmanned aerial systems. The contents are divided into two parts. One is the experimental approach, and the other on computational approach. This book describes recent research projects that have been completed by aeronautical researchers at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The chapters on experimental approach cover various experimental methods to solve problems for synthetic jet actuator, flow separation and tail shake phenomenon. In addition, the chapters on experimental method also cover field tests for unmanned aerial system by showing the instrumentation used. The chapters on computational approach cover modeling steps on aircraft design theory and numerical simulation. They discuss flight performance analysis, flight dynamics and control analysis using linear controller and fuzzy logic, aerodynamic analysis on hyperbolic lifting surface using computational fluid dynamics, and structural analysis of coreless spoiler using computational solid mechanics.  The knowledge on analysis shown through experimental and computational methods contribute to an excellent design modeling process and improvement to existing procedures. Chapters presented in this volume could provide proofs, guidelines or references for students, researchers, and professionals in the aeronautical industries.
