Biomedical Research and Application Volume II is a compilation of 11 book chapters that apply the knowledge of engineering principles and design concepts in the medical field to improve the healthcare of the community. A wide spectrum of case studies is covered ranging from brain activity research, tissue engineering, biomedical image processing and biomedical instrumentation. Chapter 1 introduces a brief introduction of the research in the following chapter. Next, bioinstrumentation research which covers from Chapter 2 till Chapter 7 is presented. Examples of application studies are sports application, wound therapy, disinfection and muscle activities study. The third part of research, which is biomedical image processing, presents the bank note application for the blind and computerized tomography (CT) scan trainer system. Fourth part of the research is about the brain activity of empathetic pain perception while the last part of the research is about scaffolds for cardiac tissue which is a small study in tissue engineering. All these topics included in this book consist of the latest and recent development of biomedical engineering.
