Description
Parkinson Tremor Engineering Care is written to share the progress on the research and development of a biomechanics device or apparatus to assist Parkinson diagnosed patients to handle their hand and leg tremor in order them to continue their daily routine activity as normal person as possible. In this book, several case studies are discussed to provide some exposure and access to the establishment of a biomechanics device or apparatus to improve the handwriting capability of a typical Parkinson patients. The development and the testing of the prototype of biomechanics devices are elaborated. A novel approach for active tremor control by means of Linear Voice Coil Actuator (LVCA) has been proposed to be used in conjunction with the intelligent Active Force Control with Iterative Learning (AFCAIL). The AFCAIL controller showed a magnificent robustness in abating the amplitude of hand tremor compared to the Proportional (P) controller, Proportional-Integral (PI) controller and Proportional-Integral and Active Force Control (PI+AFC) controller. A prototype of TREMORX assistive device is developed and successfully tested for hand tremor.
