Steel is one of the common construction materials with notable benefits. It may be applied solely or combined with concrete to form steel and composite structures. With the switch from British Standards to Eurocodes, this book gives a mind map on structural steel design according to Eurocode 1993 part 1.1 (general rules and rules for buildings) and 1.8 (design of joints). The book provides an overview of steel structures design which includes cross-section classification and design checks. The design resistance checks involve tension, compression, bending moment, shear, torsion members or any combination actions. Buckling resistance checks and serviceability checks are also highlighted. Connections design such as bolts, welds, rivets and pins are also summarized in this book. This book can thus be used as a handbook for design engineers, a reference guide for undergraduate steel design course, and as research reference for steel structures construction.
