A New Product Development (NPD) manager sometime works as a juggler, juggling the process and the management of NPD at the same time to make sure NPD success. Hence, it is important to understand what the important management elements at each of the stage of NPD process are, and vice versus. As such, this book explores, conceptualizes, analyze and proposes an innovative based NPD model that integrated both important process and management practices. The book consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 highlights the issues in NPD, i.e., the disconnection of NPD process and NPD management practices. Chapter 2 reviews the definition of new technology-based and innovative products, discusses the various models NPD process, types of NPD practices and categories of NPD management constructs. Chapter 3 outlines the concept and the approach used to integrate NPD process and NPD management practices. The integrated model is presented in the end of Chapter 3, followed by the discussion of research implications and the prospects for NPD success in Chapter 4.
