Description
This book explains in detail the development of total mixed ration by utilizing local ingredients for feeding sheep raised under Malaysia environmental conditions. The feeding requirements of imported sheep breeds are varying due to the differences in environmental conditions. Besides, the variation of feed quality also becomes a constraint in the development of the local sheep industry. Feeding total mixed ration in sheep also is not widely practiced. Hence, this book is written to discuss the standings of feeding total mixed ration to sheep, particularly Dorper breeds at different physiological stages, particularly at lactating, pre- and post-weaning stages. The information from this book will provide a feeding guideline that can be used as a manual that will serve as a reference for sheep owners. The topics in this book cover the current condition of Malaysia’s sheep industry which is only a minor segment compared to other livestock sectors, due to the limitation of feed quality and knowledge on feed formulation. This book will benefit both present and future sheep farmers in Malaysia.
