Description

Zeolites have a unique property that allows them to be modified with cationic surfactants to improve their adsorption capacity towards drug molecules such as acetylsalicylic acid. Furthermore, zeolites could be used as an antacid to reduce the hyperacidity of the gastrointestinal problem caused by acetylsalicylic acid. As a result, surface modified zeolite is a potent drug support system capable of adsorbing and releasing drug molecules while also acting as an antacid.
